Service in the community is a key part of the International Baccalaureate curriculum for students in their final two years of study. It is also one of the three core strands of the International Award for Young People in which many of the Dutch schools participate. In both cases the aim is that the students will develop an ethic of service, became more caring, open-minded, and reflective and developing greater levels of self-confidence and maturity. We will have a team of volunteers from across the school community, helping us design and publicise the event, direct the podium programme, supervise activities and run the Big Prize Charity Raffle which will be at the centre of the Fair, benefitting many good causes, both local and international. These students will work as ambassadors for their schools and the international community as a whole, injecting some fun and energy and helping to ensure the smooth running of The Fair.
