Monique Brouwer is a certified Dutch language teacher (NT2), translator from English and Portuguese into Dutch, and founder of Influente Language Centre.

She was born in the Netherlands in 1966. At the age of 5 she and her family moved to Belgium, where she has lived until 2016.
In 1990, she received her Master’s degree in translation at the University of Antwerp where, in 2011, she also got her postgraduate degree in teaching Dutch as a second language.

In 1997 she joined her former partner in starting a computer retail company, and HR became her department. She has always combined her job in HR with interpreting and teaching, and in 2014, she decided to focus entirely on NT2 teaching. Throughout her years of experience in HR, it was her mission to help people reach their full potential. She also tries to accomplish this in her Dutch classes.

Besides teaching, she enjoys photography, to write poetry and to take long walks. She likes to travel, to read and to cook for friends and family. She loves to be in an international environment and sincerely believes that learning a foreign language helps to understand the culture of the country where it is spoken.
